Little man moved to a big boy bed over the weekend after showing us his awesome climbing skills and awesomely climbing out of his crib.

So far the transition has gone surprisingly well.

First night, we watched on the monitor as he moved to the floor, and then all around the room, still asleep. Then, he woke up and cried hysterically. I went in, calmed him down, told him we loved him, put him back and left.  He walked to the closed door and cried (aka howled), I waited 5 minutes and went back and did the same thing. Then I waited ten minutes (this time i took warm milk) and the next time fifteen. I didn’t get to twenty, he went back to bed by himself and slept the rest of the night.

Last night he slept through the night.

It’s rough hearing him cry like that. I’m so worried he’s scared, but I have to be strong for him; his routine is what keeps our little family sane.
