My reasons for two c-sections

I’ve heard so much hoopla about Americans and their love for c-sections in the last few years that I decided to get my opinion out there. I know c-sections are not natural and should only be used in cases of emergency (actually I don’t know this, it’s just what I hear), but weighing up the options, here are the very simple reasons I chose c-section the second time. Hint: they both were the less deadly of the options.

7 things you shouldn’t say when a friend tells you she’s pregnant

1. “I knew it, you look bigger”/ “I could tell” “Thank God, I thought you were getting fat” (or any variation).
My friend said this to me and the last time I had seen her, I wasn’t pregnant. If someone should ask you to guess their news, never guess this; even if you know she’s trying, it would be very painful for her if you’re wrong.

2. “Wow, do you think that’s a good idea?”

Cheese from breast milk?

The following is taken from the Seattle Weekly Blogs:
Pretty much the minute that New York City chef Daniel Angerer decided that he was going to make cheese from his wife’s leftover breast milk, the internets have been going nutsy-cuckoo for the story. There have been wild rumors (like the one about him selling the cheese at his restaurant, Klee Brasserie, which isn’t true at all), rampant speculation (mostly about whether or not doing such a thing is a good idea in the first place, some about why chefs haven’t thought of this before, a lot about other people’s experiences with making things–like pancakes and ice cream–out of breast milk, and even a question of whether breast milk cheese–because it is considered parve, neither dairy or meat for kosher purposes–could be used to make kosher cheeseburgers), calls from the health department (which was chasing the rumor that he was selling human cheese on the menu) informing him that he could not serve mommy brie to the public. And Angerer (along with his wife, Lori Mason, who supplied the raw materials) has all of a sudden found himself in the middle of a food-media firestorm–all because he made a food product out of something biologically made to be food.

The Big Reveal Part Two: work

I told my boss and coworkers today. My boss wasn’t very surprised – I work for a company that works hard and plays hard, so when I wasn’t drinking, it was kind of a red flag. I tried to pass it off as Lent, but that was not convincing apparently.

My coworkers were so supportive. They were surprised and excited; it was great! They started talking about baby showers and having a name suggestion box, which would be hysterical I’m sure.

I’m so relieved that that’s over!
