Ideas for our front room

So, we have a “living room” where all the toys are and the dog’s bed and the family photos and it’s almost always a mess, which is fine. That’s how it should be in a house with two small kids. But we also have a front room with a beautiful bay window and hardly any furniture. We’ve been mulling over plans for this room for almost 6 months now and we’ve come to the conclusion that it should be slightly more grown-up (although not Victorian or modern or something – still comfy).

The ongoing search for a home

7 months ago, Mike and I went and got pre-approved for a house. We were so excited, we’d been talking about this day for years and I have pored over design magazines and books borrowed from our fabulous library. 7 months later, we have seen over 50 houses, made 5 offers and are about to make our sixth. When I say “seen” I mean packed our son into the car, driven to the house, rain or shine, pulled him out, toured the house (met our fair share of obnoxious owners and realtors along with some nice ones), put our now miserable child back in the car and driven to another one.
