Funtime Friday: Who’s your favorite?

What we’re reading: Roar Like a Lion! by Tiphanie Beeke

Overall: 3 Crowns out of 5

Little Man had a bunch of books as Christmas presents. Aunty Tip gave him this one, which I think has some proceeds going to WWF, the global environment network. It’s a sound book – not that it make sound, but you make animal noises when you read it. Little Man was looking a little sleepy so I grabbed the moment and read it to him. He liked the yelling noises and even ripped a page out, which is the ultimate compliment from a wriggly one-year old.

I gave it a three because there’s not much to it. Basically, a mouse has a question for a lion, a parrot, a panda, a crocodile, and a turtle. They can’t hear him though because they’re making too much noise (don’t bother questioning how much noise a turtle makes), so he asks a bunch of mice and they answer(again, perhaps some turtles are louder than others, but louder than mice? hmmm…).

Beauty trial: nails

I am trying to be one of those women that you’d say, “I don’t know how she does it.”
Which is the opposite of my current life, which usually brings people to say, “Wow, you must be really busy” while looking at my uncovered “freckles,” my chipped toenails, red flip flops and leggings.

So, nails are one of the first places I decided to give this a go. I took inspiration from Chloe’s Nails: Christmas nails.

I wore this for a couple days (that’s good for me) and it was cute; not this neat, but not a bad start. Second was pink and gray (loving these colors right now).

It takes all day for me to get this done (luckily I have my own busyness, so I do a nail, work, another, work, etc). Again, not perfect, but I am getting better. What do you think?

Organization time: My Work Bag

So, currently this is what I carry to work. Ridiculous, isn’t it?

We have an umbrella, a lunch bag, a computer bag, my purse, a bag of miscellaneous stuff and a coffee. I woke up this morning and realized that the shoulder aches are not part of pregnancy sleeping at all, but actually a result of treating my body like a mule.

Time to downsize and organize.
So, I emptied and laid out the important pieces.

That’s still a lot, but I should be able to find (or make) a bag to fit. After all, if I can pack a bag for a three and a half hour flight for me, Mike and Little Man, this should be a breeze.

I decided to work from the inside out.
Using a cereal box, some leftover material and the instructions on Fresh Crush, I made a purse organizer like this one:

This takes care of glasses, power brick, granola bar (Big Girl Snacks pt 1), pens, stamps, Baby Snacks, wallet, phone (which was used to take the photo!), Moleskine and camera, lip balm and roller perfume (photoed but not listed above).

The umbrella was dumped. I left one in my office, one in my car and one at home. Shouldn't need any more than that.

Now I just need to find (or make) a bag to fit the organizer, lunch, the cable bag and my laptop.

And so, Santa, you see why I really need the Sew Serendipity Bags book!!
